Peter Trochim has been living in the Chicago area for years. Prior
to being partnered with Tom, Peter built porches, decks, additions, and even homes
for many of Chicago’s top remodeler’s, and builders. Peter was an instructor in
Sokolka Trade School, teaching carpentry, and cabinetry, as well as owning & operating
a custom cabinet manufacturing company before emigrating to America. A master-craftsman,
Peter has tremendous on-site problem solving ability. As the “Guy in Charge of Building
Stuff” Peter’s on-site management style is effective, and morale boosting. He gets
his hands dirty, takes time to instruct, and hone the skills of his workers, and
is not above handling onerous chores himself, as part of the team.

Frank Shubert is the visionary behind the Chicago Porch Authority division of Mastercraft.
A Chicago businessman with many years experience in the construction, and remodeling
industries, Frank saw a developing need in the Chicago marketplace. After the 2003
porch collapse, the institution of the new porch ordinance effectively made every
existing porch in Chicago illegal. Furthermore a disorganized, and onerous permit
process made permit procurement a major chore. With the new rules, and the necessary
involvement of several building professionals & trades, in a time consuming permit
process, a void existed. Using his experience as a nationwide deck company franchisee,
Frank brings the patience, and expertise required to steer a porch, or deck project
to completion.
